Comparison of some tuning methods for integrating processes

چکیده
There are several tuning methods available for PI controllers. The Magnitude Optimum Multiple Integration (MOMI) tuning method results in a very good closed-loop response for a large class of process models. The method calculates the PI controller parameters from the process model or from the open-loop or the closed-loop time response of the process. Recently, the MOMI tuning method has been extended for integrating processes. This paper is giving comparison of MOMI tuning method with some other PI controller tuning methods for integrating processes. It is shown that the MOMI method is comparable or even better than some of compared methods.

A Unified IMC based PI/PID Controller Tuning Approach for Time Delay Processes
This paper proposes a new PI/PID controller tuning method within filtered Smith predictor (FSP) configuration in order to deal with various types of time delay processes including stable, unstable and integrating delay dominant and slow dynamic processes. The proposed PI/PID controller is designed based on the IMC principle and is tuned using a new constraint and without requiring any approxima...
متن کاملAn ANOVA Based Analytical Dynamic Matrix Controller Tuning Procedure for FOPDT Models
Dynamic Matrix Control (DMC) is a widely used model predictive controller (MPC) in industrial plants. The successful implementation of DMC in practical applications requires a proper tuning of the controller. The available tuning procedures are mainly based on experience and empirical results. This paper develops an analytical tool for DMC tuning. It is based on the application of Analysis of V...
متن کاملDisturbance Observer based Control of Integrating Processes with Dead-Time using PD controller
The work presented here addresses the issue of tuning PD controllers for controlling integrating plus deadtime (IPDT) processes using settling time and gain and phase margin specifications. Tuning formulae are derived for PD controller being used for controlling IPDT processes. Simulations have been carried out to determine the effectiveness of the tuning formulae. Also, comparison between prop...
متن کاملA New Self-Tuning Fuzzy PI Controller for Integrating Processes with Dead-Time
We propose a robust non-fuzzy self-tuning scheme for fuzzy PI controllers (FPIC) for a class of systems. The output scaling factor (SF) of the proposed non-fuzzy self-tuning FPIC, termed as NF-STFPIC, is modified on-line based on the normalized change of error of the controlled variable. Performance of the proposed controller is evaluated for a pure integrating plus dead-time (IPD) and first-or...
متن کاملPID controller frequency-domain tuning for stable, integrating and unstable processes, including dead-time
In the present paper a new tuning procedure is proposed for the ideal PID controller in series with the first-order noise filter. It is based on the recently proposed extension of the Ziegler–Nichols frequencydomain dynamics characterization of a process Gp(s). Measured process characteristics are the ultimate frequency and ultimate gain, the angle of the tangent to the Nyquist curve of the pro...
